We’re growing up
We’ve been getting feedback that the site feels more snappy over the past few days, and there’s good reason for it too. Last Thursday we more than doubled the number of machines serving up Blip.fm. Without getting too nerdy, this means things will be fast and reliable even during peak hours. And, as more people start using Blip.fm, we will continue to add resources as needed to keep things running smoove.
We’re still running just a fraction of the hardware that the big guys like Yahoo!, Google, or even Digg, have but we’ve proven that our product can scale, thanks to a solid core framework and some clever engineers. That’s a pretty big stepping stone for a website that’s only been around a few months.
So bring your friends, I want to buy more servers.
Hugs.

If you want anyone to help translate this site to portuguese, lemme know.
Preeti on October 5th, 2008
An app for iPhone, social networking sites like Facebook, Orkut will allow more exposure for this.
Carol on October 7th, 2008
I’m form Brazil too. As the other have said, it’s a hit around here. but we brazilians have the habit of invade most of sites, so if you translate it to portuguese be prepared o be an almost only-brazilian site!
But if you’re still interested on Brazil, an app to Orkut would blow your mind. Almost every person on Brazil has an Orkut account, and I’m sure that the most of them would love Blip.

Congratulations for the site, cool!

Where can you add blip.fm to facebook? I can’t figure it out!
Carlos Lorenzo on October 21st, 2008
This site is fully functional, usable, and addictive. I have been long using other dys radiostations sites like yahoo’s launchcast. This one is free, the sound is great, you can share, you can upload, people can vote and get voted. I hope it lasts for long with everyone’s help. Of course it can be improved but I think it is great stuff. Kudos.

Is there a way to embede my playlist in my website?

I love this site! Im new to it, and Im addicted already ^_^

Hey,
i love this website. I really do. I blip almost every day and love the huge database that i can access from this site.
But, today, i am intrigued. I was looking for a Beatles song, which i had already blipped, but i couldn’t found it. For my surprise, the blip was erased without any notification. I tried to search again for the song, but it was missing.
What happened? Do you have any explanation about this?
fuzzygroove on October 28th, 2008
@hugo: We might take you up on that some day, right now there’s only two developers and just english is enough work for us
@Preeti, @Pamela Kramer: We have apps for Facebook, MySpace and the iPhone in the works!
@asael2: Click the link that says, “Embed Blip.fm on your site” in the right hand column. That’ll help you get Blip.fm embeded in your blog.
@Thiago: Unfortunately due to licensing restrictions we had to remove the Beatles from the site… we’re just as disappointed as you, hopefully we can work something out in the future.
Thanks for all the kind words!!

Ian,
that is very hard to know. If the song of Beatles were removed from the site, who will be the next artist? This opens a very bad precedent!
What blip is planning to do? Can you send me an e-mail explanning what happened?
And, Ian, i think would be better if you post something about it. My blips were erased whithout any notice, whithout any explanation. The members of this community should know about something like this, won’t you agree?

I love your site.
Two suggestions:
1) Make it easier to delete blips and playlist items.
2) Raise the limit on playlist items
thanks!

I’m glad to see that you guys are getting bigger. We use Blip in our whole company, and this will make it a much better experience. We’re currently using Blip to build a sense of team togetherness. As a matter of fact, I just wrote about that not too long ago.

thanx 4 creatin such a fresh site, bwoyz! i lub it!!!!!
i’m new here & i wonder few things, lemme put it like this:
despite that your database is quite good i miss almost the 50% of the music i want 2 blip & if i can’t post the songs i wanna find on the database (no matter how, uploading or using the url tool) because are not my own tracks, how are we gonna make this site bigger????
cause if only artist & record labels are allowed 2 do that then there’s a high risk of falling under majors control (that only crappify this kind of gr8 places)
i know that licensing restrictions are a pain on the neck but there’s a good way of getting rid of the restrictions without breaking the laws that works 4 conventional radio stations & it can work 4 you 2!
email me if you are interested on this possible solution & i let you know
peace………

I got introduced to this site through a friend. Since I’ve become a member, it’s been my constant companion during work hours, *grin* and I feel it to be a truly brilliant product!
I noticed that you mentioned there were only two developers? As I work in a dotcom company as well, I can relate to the amount of effort required for the upkeep and forward progress of such a site.
Hats off to your whole team for a site well done and well maintained! Thanks a mill. ![]()

We don’t need an iPhone app. Just a minimalist flash free interface for posting. Like a mobile flickr. Mobile.blip.fm where I can post from my iPhone browser
Todd on July 24th, 2009
don’t listen to Solecist. We want an iphone app badly.
iaian7 on August 3rd, 2009
Agreed - a native iPhone app would be greatly appreciated. Would certainly earn a place on my page of music apps!
corryzahn on August 17th, 2009
I’m with Solecist. I don’t want to listen to blip.fm on my iPhone, I just want to be able to send a post on the go. Something to update my blips. Whether that be an app or a flash free mobile site, I’m all for it.
jimc on September 15th, 2009
When is that iphone app or mobile interface coming? We want to post to our blip accts!
tigarlily on September 21st, 2009
I 3rd the mobile interface! Or some kind of mobile app, j2me or symbian would be cool. There’s already an unofficial iphone app. Besides, not all of us have iPhones you know…I want one but I’ll have to stick with my sony instead (:
Jgd3 on October 11th, 2009
I also desperately want a way to post on the go - please give us a mobile interface! I couldn’t care less about listening to blip.fm on my iPhone. I’ve got music on it already that I’d like to post about. ![]()
archhead on January 25th, 2010
iphone app would be great
Thegryffin on August 4th, 2010
Defintely need an iPhone app. While some people may want only to register blips, still need ability to listen to/QC the result of the blip. (Sometimes the song blipped returns a crappy rendition of the song - not the original)
djmaxpower on October 30th, 2010
Build an iPhone / iPad app, charge $5 for it and you will make a million or so you can then use for more servers or to pay for some cloud hosting.
themadone on October 13th, 2011
Is there any platform out there for the mobile,,I just bought a Nokia N95 and was wondering if blip works on symbian based mobiles

Howdy! This article could not be written much better!
Looking through this post reminds me of my previous roommate!
He constantly kept preaching about this. I’ll send this article to him. Pretty sure he will have a good read. I appreciate you for sharing!
