Twitter Integration Updates
A while back Twitter announced that it would be terminating support for basic http authentication to its api at the end of June 2010. To this end, we’ve transitioned our Twitter integration to use the OAuth standard. If you’ve already integrated a Twitter account, you will see a message asking you to authorize Blip.fm’s Twitter application to post to your Twitter account. If you don’t wish to do so, you can either disable your Twitter integration or remove it. The transition to OAuth means that we’ll no longer need to store your actual password, making the whole process of having your Twitter account integrated with us more secure.
In addition to the OAuth transition, we’ve also made it easy for you to follow your blip friends’ Twitter accounts via an option on the gear drop down menu on that user’s blips or from the gear drop down menu on their profile. You can prevent this option from showing up in these menus by disabling your twitter account on your integration settings page. Similarly, this option will not function for any user that you’ve blocked.
Since we allow users to integrate multiple Twitter accounts, we’ve chose the first Twitter account you integrated to be your “default account”. This is the account that other users will follow when they choose the “Follow on Twitter” option from the aforementioned menus. You can easily choose which one of your Twitter accounts is your default on your integration settings page.

Glad to have the site back. However, is anyone else having problems submitting their blips?

Some YouTube links are actually good, but reported bad. They just don’t work on Blip. Go to YouTube and the video plays just fine. Post the YouTube link in Blip search and it don’t work.

@llokaf Blip went back under maintenance shortly after we reported that submitting blips was not working.

@Sylak there are 3 types of youtube status no embed, embed and unrestricted to all chromed and chromeless players. These are not the formal titles of the statuses. the first 2 types will not play on blip.fm but will play on all players in Youtube domains and some will embed on external domains but alas not work on blip.fm
From time to time the status changes based on the video onwer settings and on mid roll advert inserting by Youtube/Google.

Hello..nice to be able to blip again..
But I have a question about that fallowing on Twitter thing..
My acc is not public.. What that means for me?
What if I want to control who is fallowing me.. I mean I still want to blip for my listeners and fallowers.. But my acc is not only blip.. If I wanted for that acc to be wisible for anyone I wouldn’t lock it in a first place.. Sorry if you explained it already somewhere..in that case link would be nice..

Still running slow (for me at least) and unfortunately looks like the overplaying add is back, hoping that’s just a glitch though.
OAuth is always a good idea glad that’s happened. I’ll check out the youtube stuff eventually so great job all in all and thanks.

i can’t integrate my twitter (joan9) account with my blip.fm joan9 account. I attempt to synch the two, and I get the message: “That account is already integrated with another blip.fm account”
Is another blip.fm account really integrated with my twitter? On the services tab, it says “invalid/expired authorization” by my twitter acct. I tried removing and adding it back, but still get all the same messages.

when placing any RB RP or data in the subject field on blip the tweets dont show on twitter. ive enabled the account too so i’m losing much of the joy blip offers and am receiving no response for days from support here or via email.
