Facebook Integration Update & More
We’ve updated our Facebook integration to the new open graph api and OAuth 2.0 authentication method. What does this mean to you?
- No more expiring sessions, i.e. blips not posting to Facebook
The old authentication was session based and the sessions would expire after a certain amount of time. - Post to pages other than your profile
If you manage multiple Facebook pages, you’ll now be able to choose which pages your blips get sent to. - Find out which of your Facebook friends are on Blip.fm
When viewing your account details we’ll show a list of all your Facebook friends who are also Blip.fm DJs.

If you’ve already integrated you’re Facebook account, you’ll need to update your Facebook authentication to see these updated options by visiting:
http://blip.fm/settings/integration
Click the “update authentication” link.
Also In This Update
Also included with this update were a number of performance improvements and bug fixes. If you’re interested in this geeky stuff like us, let us know and we’ll shed more light on some of the steps we’ve taken and what else we’ve got planned to make the site even more snappy!

The Facebook thing sounds pretty cool.
But something’s wrong with the profile pictures. They all look shitty now. In my view that’s way too much compression.
Anyway, keep up the good work! Thanks!!

I just made three blips night before last and they did not post to my Facebook page. I don’t understand this, according to this update. Any help? I would like everything I just blipped the past couple of days to be on my Facebook page without having to replip it and irritate any of my blipfriends. Please respond quickly, or contact me through my Facebook account, which is easier on my dial-up connection. Thanks—–Wind.

The update is nice, but you broke the layout. Now only listeners appear on the main page correctly, props and credits are moved down a line and behind content so you can’t really see them.
In addition, the broadcaster badge got replaced by a Top 10 badge.

Same here, my stats are misaligned and all I see are listeners but not props or credits. Also like to see the main overall stats page updated real soon with regular routine refreshes.

Dear admins,
Every time I click on “Connect to Facebook” (Settings -> Services), I see a red notification “Updated authentication required”. I followed the instructiones above, I have a valid Facebook account and the Blip Fm app installed. Could you have a look at this issue? It doesn’t allow me to blip my songs onto my Facebook profile.
Many thanks!
Sparklette on December 10th, 2011
I have the exact same Facebook integration issue as Niara above has described.

The Blip.fm app disappeared from my App list on Facebook and when I try to re-connect it by the Blip.fm website and click “Connect to Facebook”, nothing happens.

Blip is not posting updates to facebook anymore. In fact, it will not allow me to add the app to services (under settings) anymore, although all the other apps like twitter & tumblr are still viable options. This used to work great…why can’t this bug be fixed?
feminess on January 4th, 2012
I cannot add the facebook app under services (under settings). Is this problem ever going to be fixed?
It appears that other users have also been experiencing this problem for several months …
sessions500 on January 10th, 2012
When are you going to fix the Facebook app?!? At least tonight I’m getting a pop-up for FB, but with a message saying “problem connecting…contact support@blip.fm” Prior to this it was nothing at all. I’ve contacted you several times over the past few months about this.
